HISTORY, SERENITY AND ELEGANCE
OF THE OLD SOUTH:  A mini-vacation destination.

BelleHavre at the
Haughton-McIver House, circa 1842

We have temporarily suspended our bed and breakfast services but continue to offer weddings, events, historical and garden tours.

Bed and Breakfast

Enjoy your stay in luxury!  Oversized, pillow-top queen-sized beds await your stay in our deluxe suites, both rooms highlighted by original fireplaces. The second room doubles as a delightful bathroom/dressing room, ideal for bridal dressing needs or relaxing in a tub enjoying complimentary bath products. Gather in the guest foyer for refreshments or board games or enjoy your coffee on the private balcony.  A southern-style elegant breakfast is served in our dining room, or romantically setup on a porch or veranda.

Weddings and Special Events

BelleHavre is a beautiful, historical venue site for weddings, receptions or special events.  The Greek Revival and Queen Anne architecture lends to creating a romantic Southern wedding.   Set up a Quartet on the balcony overlooking perennial gardens that easily accommodate decorative tents, exchange vows on the porch, or enjoy cocktails in the music room while listening to piano ballads played on BelleHavre’s baby grand piano.  Many settings are available for wedding portraits throughout the house and grounds.  Wedding planners are free to decorate to make your dream wedding or reception a reality.  We are dedicated to making your special event, wedding shower, graduation, birthday, or retirement celebration an event to remember.

Business Meetings

Plan your next business meeting, seminar, retreat, summer company picnic or Christmas party at BelleHavre, an environment of serenity and privacy. Wireless Internet service, computer, fax, and color printers are available.

Group Tours

BelleHavre offers guided tours for interested groups.  Our tours take at least an hour depending upon group participation.  Whether its gardens, history, architecture, antiques, Gone with the Wind memorabilia, dolls, fine china and porcelain art, or civil war artifacts; there's something here that will capture you.  Please call or email for reservations.

BelleHavre is conveniently snuggled between Raleigh and Pinehurst, NC at the Haughton-McIver House, in Chatham County.  Built in 1842, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. BelleHavre offers romantic, Antebellum and historical Civil War era luxury accommodations and entertaining on spacious grounds, with verandas overlooking beautiful gardens.  The magnificently restored Greek Revival, Queen Anne architecture historically depicts the elegance of 1840 South.  The home retains much of the original woodwork, doors, and fireplaces including the 10-foot hand-made french doors joining the dining room and parlor.

Enjoy the ambiance of the old south in this historical home tastefully decorated with many authentic civil war and antebellum artifacts.  Experience the elegant, southern-style dining of an age gone by on formal settings of fine china, crystal and silver.  Relax and sip mint juleps on the balcony or wraparound porches while enjoying picturesque gardens.
